Yuck. I got it. I didn't want to admit it, but today...I had to.
Looks like a lovely week of snot, sneezing, chills, fever and the worst cough I can ever remember.
The Dr. gave me a cough syrup with codeine to get me through the night, but I woke up with a huge hangover feeling.
Mom took Dev for the morning and Matt came home at lunch, as I spent the day trying to feel less miserable.

Lazy Blog Award
Ok. I win the lazy blogger award this week. (I have an excuse, with the dryer fire and all...more later)
Let me make up for it.
This Christmas, we got Dev this bike:
I was determined to avoid the, "Dora/Pink/Disney Princess crap that makes up 99% of the bikes in the stores.
So, I ordered this uber-cool Diamondback Della Cruiser. It was highly rated on Amazon, and worth every penny.
I discovered a new level of hell, putting this thing together. There were no specific instructions and it took me over 7 hours total.
And, it was entirely worth it.
I was reluctant to let her ride in the house. New carpet, new floors, cats. But, she's learned some of the fine details of riding a bike.
We're dealing with a mild respiratory virus this week. No gymnastics. No preschool. Low grade fever, cough, congested.
Everything else is wonderful and we're chugging along!

Brrrrrrrrrrrr!
So, we got our snow. It took a while, but I think we ended up with about 4-5" of light, fluffy snow.
Dev was disappointed she couldn't build a snowman, but loved sledding and making snow angels.
We bundled her up, wind chills were well below zero. (Her face has been self-painted as a "kitty.")
I so very thankful for indoor tennis. When it's this cold, I barely want to leave my warm house. The USTA season started last weekend, with a super tough match. I was sore for 2 days, which never happens unless I try to lift weights:)
In Devin developmental news, I'm afraid she's dropping her regular afternoon nap. She's skipped it 4 days in a row, which is a first. Her activity level is certainly down, since we can't do all of the active things we normally would in the nice weather. But, with preschool and gymnastics class I'm surprised she's skipping it entirely. The upside, is she's in bed asleep at 7:30...and sleeps through til 7:30/8:00. But, the last 2 hours are tough. She's tired, clumsy, silly/grumpy and demanding. (Which is just how I felt Monday morning after that tennis match)
I practiced for 2 hours last night, with the same tonight. I play the next 4 days in the row & Matt has practice and matches, too. So does Gaga. Our tennis schedules are quite crazy.

Bread Slice Index: 5
This is what happens in my town, when there's a Winter Storm Watch. There are rumors of an upgrade to Warning, but still.
Reporters at Kroger?
Combined with the fact that it's Wacky Wednesday...I mean Senior Discount Day, Kroger was insane. It was pretty damn near hysteria in the store, although Target was still peaceful.
Thankfully, Dev was at preschool and I shopped efficiently and ducked the reporters near the check out. Let's just say, I wasn't camera ready at 9:15 this AM.
My super favorite local weather guy has an awesome weather blog:
Belski's Blog
He pokes fun at the general public and issues a, "Bread Slice Index." It's a scale from 0-10...0 being no snow and 10 being a crippling, dangerous storm. This storm is a 5.
We're ready with snow pants, boots, mittens, hand warmers and sleds.
All we need is a little snow!!!!

Cheezburgah
We had an awesome, "staycation." Get it? We stayed at home, for vacation!
Actually, it was a lot of work! We continued some home renovation projects and also got new carpet on the main level. Everything looks awesome and we're very happy with the results.
Devin discovered grapefruit, thanks to Gaga. Matt just bought 17 lbs of grapefruit for $5.00 at Meijer. She's also fallen in love with Fajitas. She assembles the Tortilla, chicken, tomatoes, beans, rice, cheese and ate TWO yesterday.
With her face painted as a kitty, Devin cooked. She does the face paint herself & she's pretty good at it, too.
We fixed cheeseburgers, with the last of Grandpa's beef. So, so yummy.
I made homemade french fries, although they cost about $15.00 to make!
I used Grapeseed Oil, which is about $9.00 for 32 oz.
Devin drew, "The Wicked Witch of the West."
